I did it! I sort of just soft launched the website without too much thought- I just had this feeling that it was ready. So up it went! I didn't tell anyone, I just sort of did it, haha!! I'm so excited to finally have completed a website, y'all! I learned so much from all of the cool tutorials I found along the way. What will this website look like in the future I wonder? hehe
During the making of the website, I was able to catch little snippets of progress! This is the very first screenshot of the website:
We all gotta start somewhere, right? XD Well, i'm really glad I did. I already knew I wanted a small little box in the center where all of the main content is. I just needed to figure out the iframe to get it to work like how I envisioned.. lol. It took me an afternoon to learn how div's work and how to position them to get to the second iteration:
I had a stronger sense of a layout here.. And I was able to put up some place holder graphics! The sidebar went in, and I knew I had to put in Razzbeary's profile picture and some kind of status box that I see so many cool neocities people do! And I thought it would be cool to link to my social medias there :3c
Took to aseprite to make a cute razzbeary pagedoll that I could put on my home page! o: I also thought more about what kind of content I was going to be putting on my website.
Man, I was so excited about making my portfolio page have these little thumbnails of my images, and when you clicked them a lightbox would popup displaying the full image.. but I just couldn't get it to work right. It's a little above my skill level for the time being. If I can't code it myself, then I don't want to put it on my website, lol. The solution I came up with works for right now, anyway.
And that's how it pretty much looks like at the time of launch! I was so excited to get the clock working, and I improved the readability of my nav bar :3 If you're curious about the web revival, and yearning to make your own website.. I say go for it! Then we can be internet neighbors and we can add eachother's badges, hehe! It was such a fun process, and even though at points it was frustrating, I knew it was gonna be worth it. Anything worth doing is going to be hard, and that's all the more reason to do it. :3
A smol little note: I put my first lil trinkets up on my resource page! There will be more coming, so stay tuned my dear friends!
